    Victorinox Ambassador Automatic Chronograph Watch

    Swiss-Made Movement

Equipped with a Swiss-made movement, the automatic Victorinox Ambassador Clous de Paris is fitted with a tachymeter and chronograph, offering excellent functionality. Appointed with polished and applied hour markers, the dial features three subdials ringed in black, plus lumed hands and lumed pips at the hour positions. Knurled pushers at the 2 and 4 o’clock positions adorn the brushed stainless steel case, and a crown at 3 o’clock controls the time and date.

Note: At checkout, you’ll have your choice of watch: Black Dial/Leather Strap (241193) or Silver Dial/Stainless Steel Bracelet (241191). Quantities are limited for each model.

ETA Valgranges A07.211 Auto Chrono Movement

The Ambassador Clous de Paris is equipped with an ETA Valgranges A07.211 automatic chronograph movement, a larger movement designed to accommodate oversize watches. This self-winding 24-jewel movement offers hacking seconds and a 46-hour power reserve, and vibrates at 28,800 beats per hour. The watch comes with a date window at 3 o’clock, and it offers a peek at this lesser-known movement via display caseback.

The Many Functions of an Ambassador

Fitted with chronograph functionality, the Ambassador Clous de Paris features three subdials: a 30-minute timer at 12 o’clock, a 12-hour timer at 6 o’clock, and a subsidiary seconds hand at 9 o’clock. A large red seconds hand on the main dial serves as the 60-second chronograph timer, which can be controlled by engaging the pusher at 2 o’clock. Another tap of this pusher stops the chronograph, while a tap on the pusher at 4 o’clock resets the chronograph. In conjunction with the 120-click unidirectional bezel, the tachymeter is helpful in measuring speed and calculating distance.

I'm thinking the right call here is to buy both.....they are completely different watches in person.

I put a black rivet strap on my black dial and it looked awesome.

I picked up the Ambassador Claus de Paris 3-hand auto a few years ago, LNIB, on WUS. Got it from an old friend of ours from WG days. And I paid a few dollars more than Massdrop is asking for this one (Hello, ScottyB)!

Longines first coined the phrase "Claus de Paris", which literally translates as "Nails of Paris" for watches as a dial treatment of dimensional pyramidal cross-hatching. Victorinox uses the term in reference to the bezel and crown edges, and, on the chrono, to the pushers as well.

You can bet the farm that I just made the Valgranges a part of the family. C'mon November!!!

Difference of $100.00 north or south goes with the territory sometimes. You have to have a short memory in this hobby. Prices are going to fluctuate. On one hand you can wait and may never see the watch lower or it could sell out. There are no insurance policies with watch collecting, you buy at a price you can live with and just enjoy it.
