Zenith had a unique display on the floor at Watches and Wonders 2019 in Miami, FL for the 50th anniversary of the El Primero caliber. Tim Mosso had a chance to see the anniversary collection and get hands-on with some fantastic timepieces.

Tune in for Tim's review of the tribute to the 1969 A386, the Defy Blue Ceramic, and the Defy Zero G!

Nice stuff. I bet the 50th anniversary box package is gonna cost a lot. I did not like the blue ceramic much and I am not sure if it was smudge or scratched on the 3 o'clock side.

I gotta agree with you. That boxed set is way cool, but I can't even imagine the cost.

I don't like the blue ceramic at all.

The zero-G that's another story. I usually don't care for skeletonized watches, but that movement is so cool. I can't imagine the cost on that one either.

I dream of owning a Zenith.....

Zero_g is a tourby-like concept, so it must cost a lot. The El Primero 21 has two engines. The time keeper runs at 36,000 VPH, and the chrono runs at 360,000 VPH!

I'm with you guys. But I can't get into the Zero G - just can't read the time. :dunno:
However, I still have a Zenith on my wish list. :)

I’m green with envy! I’ve looked online and drooled over the Felix Baumgarner many times. Great story behind that one as well.

In addition to the modern Baumgartner, I’d love to have a vintage El Primero Rainbow Flyback.

It would also be very cool to have a vintage De Luca.

I guess you could say I’d be happy with a Zenith collection.
If only I had the $$$$$$$$.

Those are sa-weet! My buddy showed me his Zenith years ago, so I always wanted one. Then someone posted the Baumgartner model, and I had my eye on it. Finally, my financial advisor bought one, and I saw it in person and new I had to get one. He went on a cruise, and found an AD, but offered to pick me up a different model. I declined and told him that I might get a gray market model from Ashford or jomashop. He was in the store and told the AD. the AD has a store in Washington that had the model, offered a lower price, so I pulled the trigger and had it mailed to me. It was more than gray market, but I emailed the SN and a pic of the COSC certificate and they verified it genuine, so I was happy. Still, the rubber strap doesn't look as nice as croc leather or a SS bracelet, which would have cost just a little more at Ashford, but it's comfortable.

I'd be happy with either, stewie. Got a slot in the watch box reserved for a Zenith.

Great story and cool that it worked out for you.

If you check out the post I made in the general section on the Cellini watch fair, I got to see these on Wed. The set cost $50k. The 4th watch will be anothr $15k (according to the salesman at Cellini) and if you end up buying all 4 you get a Zenith star engraved with your name to be placed somewhere in ther Swiss headquarters.
