Hello everyone. I haven't been here for a long, long time but might just frequent this off-topic thread. What brought me here today? I got a text message from my old friend gman66 a.k.a. Gary. When I lived in his neck of the woods we would frequently go to breakfast with each other on the weekends. After I moved to the SF Bay area, we did so a few times, but until today I pretty much hadn't connected with him in a couple of years. Largely my fault for not staying connected. Anyway, we chatted for over half an hour catching up with each other, and I mentioned I had turned to listening to music to offset the crap we are all facing today with COIVD19 and the virtual shutdown of life as we used to know it. He told me about this thread on the forum and I thought I would stop by and share some things I have found that I've was completely unaware of in the past. In this first post, I am going to share the 50th-anniversary version of Don McLean's American Pie that Don did with an amazing acapella group named Home Free. Don is 71 years old now and hasn't lost his ability to pull you in with his voice and the story he is telling. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

This is absolutely awesome, Brad. Those of us old enough to understand what the song is all about will always consider it something of a rock & roll prayer. Everyone did an amazing job on this. It was great talking to you today, and cool to see you on the forum again. I'm sure some old friends will drop by to pay their respects. Stay safe, my friend.

Thanks Gary. Home Free has been around for more than a decade and there are no instruments used in making their music, just the human voice, which is sometimes hard to believe. Here are a few more from them to whet your appetite.

This one if from the lead tenor or Home Free who also does solo work.

One more for tonight. This is a video of a 16-year-old teenage guitarist playing her rendition of Ludwig van Beethoven's - Moonlight Sonata ( 3rd Movement ), which is one of the most difficult pieces to play on the piano. Wait until you see what she does with it on the guitar!
