Well I somehow overwound my DeepBlue DepthMaster 49mm. I screwed up the winding mechanism. So I sent it off on Sept. 21st. 2020 to WatchrepairUsa.com they received it on Sept. 24th. After a couple of emails back and forth about price to fix it they didn’t start working on it till Oct. 13th. Now I could have just changed the movement but I didn’t wanna go that route, I wanted everything to be Original. So that’s the route I took to the tune of $ 363.07 ya I know ouch. Now I explicitly told them I wanted whatever parts they replaced sent back to me with the watch when they were done fixing it. Do you think I got the parts back ? Nope not a single piece. So I’m kinda pissed about that. Now on Jan. 10th. 2021 I got an email stating that they were done fixing my watch. They mailed it back to me on Jan. 12th. and I received it today Jan. 15th. Other than not receiving my old parts was there any other negativity, not that I could find. They really mummy rapped the heck out of it. Now would I send another watch there to be repaired ? At this moment I really can’t say either way. I’m going to keep a close eye on the watch for the next few days to see if anything pops up.

Good to see it back home, and here is wishing you only many years of good service from it.

As long as you're happy, that's all that counts. If I was a betting man I would guess they swapped movements. That is the quickest, easiest most cost effective method even for a shop. A tear down can become time-consuming sometimes in comparison. I'm not saying that's what they did, but no parts returned and movements made in bulk do not have any serial numbers on them that I'm aware of. Other than cracking open the case to put a distinguishable mark only you would know on the movement foundation, how would you ever know?

I have two versions of this one from years ago. I paid around $550.oo for one and $635 for another.

yeah that sux... i remember the thread WILSON WATCH WORKS NORTH CAROLINA

so like JOHNRO BEANTOWN always posts... don't try to give me no rollie ...translation... the back end repair liability on these buggies is stiff...

What a bummer...you'll now get to see just how good their CS really is....here;s hoping they make it right...
yeah that happened to me on a RUSSIAN POCKET WATCH " MOKBAR " that I paid maybe $100...and had " sentimental " value for me... I sent it to a repair for $250... waited 4 months... got it back broke in transit or whatever... covid hit... a few motnhs later they honored the 1 year guarantee...i have it it works...

after being enlightened by ROAD WARRIOR on the expected life expectancy of SWISS UNITAS... i am going to try to stick to SWISS UNITAS and pass on the chinese sea bird and russian peoples watch factories...

even the 7001 is a little too delicate for me...the UNITAS is good for my barbarian fingers

That's absurd to pay the price and this happens Jad. Best of luck with working it out. That's why I feel so strongly about movement transplant option when the option and price makes sense. I understand keeping things original part, but too many things can go wrong with these "so-called repairs" when you're putting faith in strangers to do the right thing. Then, comes the fun part haggling about the "watch worked fine when it was returned" part.

well it has to be guaranteed... and MOVEMENT TRANSPLANT probably most cost efficient ..no glory in OEM

I'm not being sarcastic here , just realistic....when a new movt is the less expensive route to a repair , always select that option. It is always less stressful , and the goal of any hobby is no stress. The original movt doesn't have to remain with the watch....it's not a numbers matching 1970 Hemi Cuda.

I'd have to agree that a new movement may be the best option unless the money is not a factor

Well it arrived back today from Jan. 27th. and I’m not a happy camper I Will Never send them Anything Ever Again. !!! All I got back was a piece of paper saying “no charge for this repair. We apologize for the inconvenience ! “. They never gave me any old parts back, the first time or this second time. When I Explicitly asked for them Both Times !!! So I have no idea what they did or did not due. No explanation. And I have a couple of NEW SCRATCHES, on the bracelet and on the lug !!! Watch Repairs USA.
The only good thing I have to say today is that the winding of the movement seems flawless and packaging was good1A341C4B-DDB7-4EC1-BB84-069C8E88BBBC.jpeg8E300D20-4C97-4776-B9F6-C58FEC896B21.jpeg08D70C0B-574F-47F4-9D1B-306A61C129D8.jpegC56A2D8C-BF78-4844-8C7F-C1A4136A99A2.jpegE4240904-E1C7-4385-97F1-2A10B0029534.jpeg70B3A880-F595-406A-829C-B3CC8C7AA62F.jpeg
So will see how long this repair last.

Glad it is back in your hands. I think there is a good chance the movement was replaced. Chalk it up as a lesson learned. No one will see the insides or know the movement isn't the original in a case like this.

If you don't feel comfortable doing a movement swap I'm sure there are plenty of competent local guys who could do the job reasonable and could be inspected on site.

Probably the only thing that would worry me would be putting the hands back on the dial.
ya I have a local watch guy that’s done some work for me.
