About this project

Unit 7 was created as a collaboration between a few individuals (7 to be exact). We are a combination of Collectors, Designers, Watch Engineers, Supply Chain/Manufacturing Experts and Brand Operators. With a combined knowledge of over 20 years in the watch industry. We have combined forces to bring you a new brand; The Unit 7. To celebrate our launch and our first model, we are offering our first model at an unbelievable price.

There is a unlimited supply of Kickstarter offerings. Some turn out to be a gamble, you just never know what you will get. At Unit 7, we have done it before, we know the industry. Our manufacturing partners are tried and tested so you are assured what you see is what you get.

The Movement

The heart of the Carbon features a Miyota Cal.8215 movement made by Citizen in Japan. This particular movement has proven itself time and time again to be a highly accurate and reliable work horse.
Case

The Unit 7 Diver is made of full Stainless Steel. We have spent a lot of time perfecting the design and quality. We have spent our time in getting every single detail right.

Where are we now

We have spent close to a year designing and developing the new range of Unit 7 Divers. After several prototypes and revisions, we can now say we are very happy with how the Unit 7 watches turned out. We have finalized all the designs, the engineering and prototyping has been completed. Our Manufacturing partners and suppliers lined up and are on standby. We have completed all the sampling with our own funds, now we need your help to purchase all the raw materials and to help with the high manufacturing costs.

Tempest Watches was started in 2010. The brand was created at a time when everyone was using the same generic cases with slight variations to the dials. We knew we could do better. Our mantra was simple, to create time pieces that were not only high in quality but original in design. Since our inception, we have since introduced 3 highly acclaimed watches into the market, the Viking, the Commodore and the Tempest Carbon.

A very handsome, and impressive offering, in some outstanding executions. Looks like another winner. Thanks for the HU, information, and links, Mike.:outstand::applaud:

Great looking piece, with some real expertise behind it.
There are so many diver choices out there, and the field just keeps getting bigger.

Thanks Mike. I LIKE the 8215. Good price. Nice design to use a NATO strap.

Follow the link for EB price.

I wonder if Motegi made this video, the music sounds like his taste, I know he has done work for Ben before.:dunno:

Too many choices, but I guess this is a good thing. Something for everybody as it were.
I'm liking the case design works will with the rubber belt offering. The tried and true 8215 engine
is good choice. My pick is the aqua blue !

This is an Aquadive knockoff, you don't need 20 years of combined experience to copy this

Yeah what is your point ? First post join to flame, must be bored where you came from.

From what I have seen on the Tempest website, their prices for what you get are very high!

No one is putting a gun to your head, buy what you like.

Yes, obviously I joined only because this grabbed my attention, and my point is, it should be called an Aquadive homage, no flaming or whatsoever, but credit should be given where it is due...

I agree, and that was my first impression as well as some other similar models like the DB mentioned earlier, glad it grabbed your attention to join the forum and welcome.

I like it. I really like the rose gold, but was hoping it wasn't rose gold. I think the price is pretty decent on the Kickstarter as well. Hmm...I'll have to kick this one around a minute.

Thanks for the HU Mike!

As for this looking like watches from other companies, it happens. Look at the 4 million "copies" of the Rolex Sub Mariner. There are only so many different designs you can do as a company to sell to the "masses". These super unique brands like Xeric don't have the depth of customer base like companies with more classic designs. It is much harder for these smaller brands to from a base to stay open and alive. As a company, do something first that will open you up to as many potential customers as you can. Once you have some sort of customer base, and have raised some capital from said base, then you can branch out with another company or even the same company, and do some unique one off type of watches.

I guess what I am saying, is come up with your own completely unique design, before giving a company crap about stealing a design or not being creative enough. And more than likely, the brands that are being "copied", did the same thing to another company. A lot of these classic styles have been around a long time.

Greetings, and salutations! Welcome aboard! It's great to have you with us. Come on in, kick back, and ENJOY, my friend!

Been looking at this all afternoon. An Aquadive Homage was a great move
I am fond of the 8215 so it will be hard to resist.
