TORSK-DIVER Up Date 06/29/2019

Hi TORSK-DIVER Fans,

Last week we flew out to the Hong Kong Watch and Clock Fair, the world’s largest timepiece event, to meet with our existing manufacturer as well as several other manufacturers and suppliers.

After productive meetings reviewing unfortunate flaws of the current prototype with our first manufacturer, going through designs, and testing samples, we have decided to move forward with a new manufacturer and have requested a new prototype. This process will unfortunately push our launch date out, but we feel that it is a necessary step to achieve a higher quality timepiece.

With that said, we are deeply saddened to let you know that we will be postponing the launch of the TORSK-DIVER until early 2019. We know that many of you have followed us from the beginning, and we greatly appreciate your support and patience. We want to assure everyone, that quality and attention to detail are of highest importance to us and we will not launch until we are confident that you will love the TORSK-DIVER timepiece.

As we wait for the new prototypes, we do want to share some of the additional enhancements and upgrades to the TORSK-DIVER. These include an overall thinner case design, tighter rotating bezel, longer crown guard, larger crown, and newly added case tag representing the USS Torsk submarine (SS-423).

We have also redesigned the movement rotor to include the the USS-Torsk logo.

Visit us at the District Time Watch Event!

We will be attending the District Time Watch Event and will be showcasing the initial TORSK-DIVER prototype as well as our original Tsao Baltimore timepieces which will be available to purchase. The event is on Sunday, September 30, 2018 located at the District Architecture Center (421 7th Street NW, Washington DC 20004) from 11:00am – 4:00pm. We'd love to see you!

The Limited Edition Torsk-Diver prototype! We're making a few adjustments before we launch in early 2019... Some of which include a sunburst dial, a flat chapter ring, double domed sapphire (instead of a boxed dome sapphire), additional coats of swiss superluminova C3 lume, and a slightly larger second hand.

It's good to know quality control is still alive and well. Some take pride, others act like they do, but never really practiced higher standards of great quality control. That's one of the pitfalls when under the gun with outside pressure to deliver the goods by air time.

If Alan Tsao, B.S. '11, currently an MBA student in the University of Baltimore's Merrick School of Business, has anything to say about it, pretty soon it will be "Alan time." Tsao, a native of Timonium, Md., is the creator and owner of Tsao Baltimore, a new company that is making and selling Tsao's own line of luxury watches.

Yes, in 2017, a young person is into watches—so much so that he has made it his business and his passion in life.

"I've had a passion for watches since I was 10 years old," Tsao says.

He recalls starting a watch collection at about that age—a Fossil watch with a bright orange face was probably his first, he says—and spending hours admiring the look and feel of the object, not to mention its purposefulness as a tool that has evolved with humankind through the centuries.

"A watch is a sophisticated thing," Tsao says. "All of the details, the texture and the features. I think of a watch as a confidence booster."

Hi Everyone,

We have some positive news! Version 2 of the prototypes from our new manufacturer are on schedule and look great so far. We’re still in the early stages but the prototype dials have been completed. We’re waiting on the final prototype pieces to arrive for assembly and expect to have them fully assembled by mid December for a full reveal!

We're incredibly excited to show you these dials and would love to hear what you think!
