As always, you are very, very kind to this old rodent, and it's very much appreciated! I also wanted to tell you that the vintage place you described above actually exists, both in my past, as well as in current reality; it's called Joe Petrelli's, and it's up in Culver City, Cali, a part of L.A. County, and somewhat adjacent to the city of Smell-A itself. Petrelli's has some of the most amazing steaks and chops in the world, and their French dip sammiches are, as my grandmother ~ God rest her sweet soul ~ would opine, "Ta DIE for, they are! Oy-VEY! C'mere, sweety; you got some schmutz on your face I gotta wipe off, over here!" But she digresses...Utterly brilliant! And, such a great summation of brand knowledge as well, celebrating who they are, not what they are not pretending to be. Wise words, as always, and a helpful perspective to avoid brand tomfoolery, and instead just enjoying a solid company making a spectacular watch.
That's a real beauty, and it doesn't feel repetitive to say that you once again find the rare and wonderful gems.
Seems to evoke a dim lit space, adorned with fine woods and leather furnishings, a hint of cigar smoke and aged whiskey in the air, a tone of intrigue and mystery in some of the low spoken conversations around various tables in the room, and the amber light catches the glint of a Krysterna crystal, as MisterJingles checks the time on his Piattino Quadrato....
Conversely, it sounds like a really tasty Italian wine! Garcon, get me your best bottle of the Piattino Quadrato!
Ha, the watch just oozes class. I love it!
Wow, how awesome is that?! Quite the watch, to speak across distance and time itself, to bloom that image in my brain. What's that about that Force thing, connecting all of us? The Jedi Order is on to something there! As always, you are very, very kind to this old rodent, and it's very much appreciated! Anyhow, the place has soooOOOooo much histoi', starting with Joe's death in a small plane crash right around 1955. But the restaurant kept going, and is one of LA's "quieter iconic sites," every bit as star-studded as der late great Braun Derby, but not as well known. It's close to LAX, so there's a definite feel of old time aviation about it ~ something this old time aviator certainly appreciates ~ and the old RKO Studios, which later became the home of Desilu, stood nearby for many, many years before "progress" overcame it, and it, with its amazing backlot, exists no more...and now da mouse digresses...
Again, many thanks, my young Padowan, for your very kind words! You have earned the title of Horo-Jedi!!
