SēL Instrument is an R&D focused high-performance watch manufacturer located in Arizona, USA. Founded in 2013, our focus has been to challenge and deconstruct many traditional embodiment's in watchmaking and re-engineer better solutions for rugged field instruments. In addition to our products, we have developed significant intellectual property with several patents pending and new research in areas including high-pressure sealing, thermal stability, and impact shock mitigation. We measure success not only by the quality of our products but also by the breadth of relationships we cultivate to support other watch manufacturers, defense contractors, and the end users of our products in the field.

SēL Instrument MKI OmniDiver [the American UTS?]

Could this be the US’s answer to UTS?
On paper it certainly looks that way, so get your gear head on and make sure your favorite stimulant is at hand cos’ this sh!t’s bout’ to get technical.

The MKI OmniDiver is a Titanium Grade 5, multi-piece-constructed, 6’000 meters water-resistant diver, engineered for use in the harshest of environments and boasting a ton of technical innovations, the engineering explanations of which will likely leave your head spinning like a whirling dervish –

look I didn’t attend MIT, okay, I’m just a guy who quite likes diver’s watches.

Let’s kick the proceedings off with the OmniDiver’s bezel.

Thoughts?

A technical tour de force from a bunch of mad-genius, scientists (that may or may not be using psychotropics) out in the middle of the Arizona desert - that could absolutely give the UTS 4000m a damn good run for its money but with the looks only a mother could love – I’d wear one all day long – how about you?

Finish machining on OmniDiver bezels this morning. If you have ordered an OmniDiver in the last 10 days,

Case Size
48mm Case
with 48mm Bezel

Case Thickness
15 mm

Weight
168g
with Bracelet & Clasp

Warranty

5 years

Total Clasp Adjustment
38mm

Bodies change daily. So should your clasp.

The SēL WavLock, machined from solid titanium, gives you 24mm incremental adjustment (4mm increments) and a 14mm auxiliary extension. That’s 38mm total adjustment. No tools required. Plus, when closed, the design puts all of the stress forces into the solid titanium bottom plate instead of the hinge and catch like a trifold does.

Incremental Adjustment
24mm
In 4mm Increments

Clearly better.

Compared to the industry standard rigid mount, the OmniDiver’s Kyropoulos sapphire is better protected in a shock-isolating suspension mount to reduce the likelihood of fracture from strong impacts and to protect it thermodynamically from changes in temperature.

Like a dive bezel, just better.

Silicon nitride balls in a race held to +/- .0001” gives the OmniDiver bezel the smoothest high precision fit possible on the casework. Large ratchet pistons guarantee crisp indexing in 120 positions with absolutely no counter-rotation.

Timekeeping Accuracy

+/- 0.027 sec per day

In normal conditions

Accuracy measured in seconds per year.
OmniDiver is powered by a next generation temperature compensating ETA PreciDrive movement capable of plus or minus 10 seconds per year accuracy. That’s substantially better than the COSC standard for certified quartz or mechanical chronometers.

Air drying a Wavlock bracelet assembly after ultrasonic. Divided by parts we make (left side) and parts we don't (right side). Takes about 90 minutes to assemble the bracelet and clasp from this stage then we engrave with the case serial number to create a matched set.

Minimal damage to the titanium OmniDiver that hit the road at ~25mph. This is exactly why we don't use spring bars or hollow parts. Enough force to have easily broken a standard spring bar. Solid construction and machine screws = no structural or functional degradation; cosmetic damage only.

SēL Team crash collateral damage. Had a mobile device mounted in this arm mount. Mount didn't make it BUT a medic found the @juggernautcase IMPCT case 20 feet away and the device was in perfect condition.

That is the most bad ass watch I have ever seen! I don't want to look at the price though! I know I won't be able to afford one. :nono:
