Hi All,

Long time runner here but now a jogger. Do you guys jog with you automatics on or do you jog in a quartz or digital watch? Are there any adverse effects to an automatic from repetitive impact of jogging and the natural position of the wrist while jogging? Just curios.

I've been a runner my whole life and rarely wear a watch at all. When I was training for rollerblading marathon races though I used to wear Polar brand heart monitor watches which worked well and worked well when running as well. Now that I'm in my late 50's timing stuff is just depressing. I never wanted the extra weight of any regular automatic watch on my wrist while serious exercising so digital is my choice if I wear one. I'm also a walking mail carrier and have been for 32 years and do wear automatic watches all the time for the day and have not had problems with them.

Can't help with that question.

I don't remember where I saw it but I read A...just A article that said not to because the constant and rythmic impacts mess up the inner parts. Don't know if that's true. Makes sense since when we walk it's a light impact...for some lol. For me I'd do quartz/digital

twit...that's what i think shaking the parts can not be good...and body heat...sweat...rain...humidity .. yicky . when i used to do some heavy miles used an old seiko grab & go chrono

i try to grab my crappiest grab &
go for work ...or exercise

I use a Fitbit with built in GPS and so on. I don't think I'd use an auto with the dust
and lots of sweat. I get a map of the run afterwards, which is cool. I do bout
15 miles per week. The jarring will be the biggest issue, per Mr. B.

Nothing wrong with wearing an auto for jogging. What better way to wind it up? I do lots of activities with my automatics including very strenuous activities at work. They all work like a champ.

I use a very cool Garmin fenix 5X for running, Hiking, Walking and Biking. I need heart rate info. Casio makes a new running watch with lots of cool features. I would not use a automatic watch. Too heavy and if you trip and land on it, good buy to the watch in most cases.
