"There will be a review of the Proteus next weekend on the Just One More Watch YouTube channel. Tune in to see Mr "Hellooooooo There" Jody Musgrove give an opinion, in his own inimitable style, on the Phoibos Proteus. Hopefully there won't be too many "moans and niggles" along the way."

Not bad at all. Some good color combo's and meteorite is always a nice option. Screws in the bracelet, ceramic bezel, Ar coating, sapphire, nice lume, all and all not too bad a deal.

fingered the white sand...temptation...congrats to wits above ! nice value...15 layers super luminova

Was really tempted on this one but ordered another diver instead. Seems to be a really good value for a nice style. I would have either gone for the blue (like the textured dial) or the meteorite.

Mini review from M. Zappa

My blue Phoibos Proteus PY0024B has just arrived. The first impressions are good - but not very good. The bracelet is decent for the price but feels a bit "aluminium-like" and rough at the edges (exactly like the bracelet of PY007). Opening of the clasp is tough as it lacks enough protrusion to grab. Because of the sharp-edge design of the case it is clearly visible that the bracelet does not fit the case 100% perfectly (little misallignments visible). The bracelet is the biggest question mark in the overall quality package.

The hands could indeed be a bit thicker and the date window a little bigger. Addition of the partial index to the right hand side of the date window would make the dial much more balanced. Also the 6 / 9 / 12 indexes could be a bit longer/bigger, which would vastly improve the legibility of the dial. The dark blue colour is very nice, looks great both indoors and in the sunshine. The lume is crazy strong, which is typical for Phoibos.

The watch pays tribute to numerous well known models: Seiko Samurai (case shape), Rolex Milgauss (seconds hand), Zelos Hammerhead (overal design with contrast chapter ring), Seiko SKXA53 (contrast chapter ring and the shape of indexes) and Seiko SNZH53 (striking blue shine of the ceramic bezel and domed crystal). Overall I do like it, but it is not "love at first sight". Time will tell if the Proteus really grows on me. Thanks for reading!

:hmm: I honestly feel the watch specs are worthy of the price paid, especially factoring in the launch coupon code discount. I'm guilty of sometimes doing the same myself at times. Expecting a little too much for the money spent with certain watches, but have grown to see things a little differently. The price, movement, crystal type, lume quality, ceramic bezel, scissor style clasp, screws in the links of the bracelet add up to a good watch for the price paid. I've seen watches twice the price of this one with rough edges, but having a higher beat movement.
