Mini review from M. Zappa

My blue Phoibos Proteus PY0024B has just arrived. The first impressions are good - but not very good. The bracelet is decent for the price but feels a bit "aluminium-like" and rough at the edges (exactly like the bracelet of PY007). Opening of the clasp is tough as it lacks enough protrusion to grab. Because of the sharp-edge design of the case it is clearly visible that the bracelet does not fit the case 100% perfectly (little misallignments visible). The bracelet is the biggest question mark in the overall quality package.

The hands could indeed be a bit thicker and the date window a little bigger. Addition of the partial index to the right hand side of the date window would make the dial much more balanced. Also the 6 / 9 / 12 indexes could be a bit longer/bigger, which would vastly improve the legibility of the dial. The dark blue colour is very nice, looks great both indoors and in the sunshine. The lume is crazy strong, which is typical for Phoibos.

The watch pays tribute to numerous well known models: Seiko Samurai (case shape), Rolex Milgauss (seconds hand), Zelos Hammerhead (overal design with contrast chapter ring), Seiko SKXA53 (contrast chapter ring and the shape of indexes) and Seiko SNZH53 (striking blue shine of the ceramic bezel and domed crystal). Overall I do like it, but it is not "love at first sight". Time will tell if the Proteus really grows on me. Thanks for reading!

:hmm: I honestly feel the watch specs are worthy of the price paid, especially factoring in the launch coupon code discount. I'm guilty of sometimes doing the same myself at times. Expecting a little too much for the money spent with certain watches, but have grown to see things a little differently. The price, movement, crystal type, lume quality, ceramic bezel, scissor style clasp, screws in the links of the bracelet add up to a good watch for the price paid. I've seen watches twice the price of this one with rough edges, but having a higher beat movement.

:outstand:A big congratulations, Mike!:up::applaud:

Huh, maybe that's why the only answer I can get about my Phoibos Proteus is it's probably somewhere between China and Avenel New Jersey, maybe.
Is longislandwatch in New Jersey or New York ?
My purchase was made 0n May 27, and I checked the box so that it would be shipped from a warehouse in the Good Old" U.S.A. Well as LUCK has it, there was a problem Houston, with that idea so it was eventually shipped out of a warehouse in China. On 6/5/ I'm being told the watch arrived @5:46p.m. in Avenel NJ 07001... "but this does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date" is that a CYA. Since then I have tried contacting Phoibos with no luck. No further update or email.
I know some might say I need to have a bit more patience, but please don't say "you have to remember about Covid-19", I get it! I'm just looking forward to getting the watch.
I've read and watched all the reviews and according to "them" shipping was said to take 5-7 days, hell one review bragged about getting it in 2 days.
All I can say is I'm still hopeful that the product is better than the method, or I'll be giving Mark a call.
"Ready to ship, Here is your 300 meters of Phoibos Water Resistance".

Sorry you're having an issue with tracking. I ordered the one below on 11/26/19 and USPS delivered it on 11/29/19. I ordered from the USA warehouse in East Los Angeles, CA, Commerce, CA. I was lucky it arrived unscathed. They just threw it in a box with no padding or any kind of wrap. It was flopping around during the journey.

Thanks Mike, but I'm not sure... am I suppose to feel BETTER now ?
I also made sure I clicked on the box saying it would be sent of a warehouse in the U.S.A.
Someone on there end felt they needed to change that minor item.
Funny their website didn't flask in big red letters "Shipping may take longer due to you know what", when I purchased the watch. Then again it was supposed to be shipped here in the U.S.
By the way any chance you may want to make a trade say straight up? I mean "no padding or anything" it has to be broken???

You're welcome. I doubt anything anyone can say will put your mind at ease until the watch is in your hands. I'm trying to take into consideration when I purchased mine it was around the holidays, but there were no riots, protesting or Covid-19 to deal with. USPS, and other delivery workers have their hands full. LOL .... nope I love my Great Wall with the ETA-2824-2. It's one of the most accurate watches I own. The timing is spot on. I'll keep my fingers crossed for a good outcome.

Received my white one today 6/9. I ordered on 5/28 and chose free shipping (won't do that again) it shipped from China warehouse using 4px shipping who handed to DHL e-commerce who handed to USPS for final delivery. I was getting a little worried as well, glad it showed up it's a cool watch. Here's Abad pic of it will try and post better tomorrow
