What do you think of the new Oris models? What would you like to see them do next?

I love the Da Watt! WIsh is was under $2k but maybe in the future?

Pastels are in. Things like 80s color is back in fashion. THere's no surprise here and they aren't the only ones doing it. Lots of powder blue watches have been popular the last couple years. Pink has been out there, mint green as gotten popular too. (There a couple very nice Breitlings out now)

Regardless of what they say, I think those are marketed towards women first. I truly wonder how a woman, let alone a man not in the know will feel about the patina over time? Also I hope they coat or plate the inside of the bracelet or it will be a green wrist machine.

Interesting comment about the AR coating. Now that I think about it. The AR on my Diver's 65 is ok but not great. And in fact the green dial often looks black due to the reflections. But the AR on my older Aquia small seconds if really pretty good.

Not as good as my Omegas or Breitlings but pretty good indeed.

I'm kind of at a crossroads with the OMEGA Railmaster. I was hoping they would make them without the AR coating on both sides like they have with a few newer models. It's a chance with this particular model. They retired it a few times already and I would hate to miss the one I have my eye on. I could probably live with the AR double-sided coating because I love everything else about the watch.

Some very sharp offerings, from Oris. If I could, I would!:wink:Thanks Mike.:hat:

Well I think your lifestyle plays a part in that kind of decision. First off, yes you don't want to miss out but they will be out there. However if I were worried about scratching the AR I'd be really hesitant to buy used.

aside from that though. If you take it easy on your watch, it probably won't be a big deal or anything at all.

I watch the B&J video and he is right to be disappointed in the microscopic scratches. But for a collector he actually wore that watch a lot. (not a for the avg one watch person but a lot for a collector)

Will you wear it daily? Will you be wearing it with jeans and constantly taking it in and out of your pockets? Will you do any kind of labor in it. Will you take more pics of it off the wrist than on? Will you always use a soft surface if changing straps?

I would put money on you @roadwarrior taking better care of a Railmaster than the B&J guy. [can't remember his name...lol]

Every part of the watch is brushed and that is a big selling point on the finish for me. I would not wear it as a beater, but would wear it with jeans casually. It could possibly get more wear than others, but that was why the AR coating on the outside has put me off. The closest I came was when JOMA had them for $3,800 with no tax, but now they are charging tax.

I will probably grab one grey market for around four grand, but I'm not buying one from a private seller for the same reason you explained. Under $4000 with all the OEM packaging and five year warranty through a reputable grey market store seems to be my best option.
