Opened my Corduba Enforcer this morning....

And so it goes with Invicta. Really, in terms of their other lies, this one is actually pretty minimal. [br][br]This sort of thing goes back to when I posted a lot of stuff at BDWF, some of it tongue-in-cheek, some of it serious. The Swiss made movements that were manufactured in China? Check. The sandstone dials that were actually glass? Check.[br][br]Later on, when I joined Watchlords (which got me the grumpy user hack at WGs) I learned more. The DD fiasco? Remember that, when Dubois-Depraz was used in some sort of Invicta, and something went wrong with them (I can't recall the issue, but it had something to do with the hands) and loud conversations were going to ensue with Eyal? It turned out that DD had never sold the modules to Invicta; they had, apparently, fallen off the back of a truck.[br][br]I don't hate all TV watches. Androids are pretty good--I never got one that had a fogged crystal, they always told time pretty well, and Mrs. conjurer still owns and wears a couple I bought for her. Croton made some good watches. I've owned a Deep Blue or two, and although they weren't to my taste, they were well made and worth the money.[br][br]Invicta is different. They're the laughstock of the watch trade. Nobody takes them seriously. Their CS is so apallingly awful that nobody wants to send their watch in just in case that they never get them back/get them in worse condition/get them back with Chinese clone movements inside. It's all written down here. Even Mr. Skelton, who is not exactly a paragon of truthfulness, as he's already told us here, can't stand beside the watches he so willingly sold us on Shop/Evine/whatever.[br][br]Why do you keep buying this crap? Do you think Eyal will come to some personal epiphany and not sell his customers garbage any longer? Do you think you have to crack open a Hamilton automatic chronograph and not find a SW5))? Or a Glycine, or a Kobold? Certainly not. They are established brands. They are not garbage. If Stan Betesh tells you its a 775), it is. The same for Wing Liang. Like buzzard says above, assume everything Invicta tells you is a lie. [br][br]This is why I came here, to preach the gospel. Like Luther, here I stand. Do with me as you will.

I guess World of Watches may have the same issue with confirming movements in Bulova i.e. Valjouz 775) vs SW5))? Read the comments in this listing at WOW[br][br]This is an automatic Accutron Bulova watch. It is brand new, genuine and authentic. We do not know what type of automatic movement it is. Thank you, WorldofWatches[br][br]http://www.worldofwatches.com/mens-gemini-automatic-chronograph-silver-tone-steel-black-dial-accutron-63c))6

WoW has a gray market item and would be understandably reluctant to crack the case.[br][br]Also, given the somewhat creative marketing channel if it turned out to be an SW5)) it would be all on WoW and none on Bulova.[br][br]It appears Bulova has their precisionist movement adapted for chrono use in current product.[br][br]

In the end for me if I have either one and as long as it's not broke I won't worry about it. Both are good movements. However, I do see your point that you were sold a watch with the ETA movement and that's what you should expect.

With the ongoing Swatch Group ETA cutback, the 775)/SW5)) issue will only grow - especially among brands who may rely on 3rd party suppliers. Eventually the go-to chrono movement will be the SW5)) with 775)s the exception. Even now Sellita is ramping up production as quickly as prudent to handle the increasing demand. Sooner or later one or more of the Asian clones will manage to pass the Swiss Made test and become a contender in the lower end brands.

I wish I had never seen this thread! My enforcer was/is the only 775) in my collection. It is also the only Invicta I own that actually broke. I sent it in, paid the $28, waiting exactly 3 months, and it came back to me in working order. Now I find this unholy thread and want to get my watch open! But I canNOT find my frickin' wrench thingy!! WHERE THE HELL IS IT!! Ok, lovely, I am shaking the watch and it no longer has the very distinct 775) vibration going on that Tim Temple likes to describe. It is spinning like...well like any other auto. *fume*

Well, found my caseback wrench. This is not the rotor I was expecting to find. And there all tiny on the lower right it says SW5)). &^%$@$@(%^&#*&#^$@! I have emailed this photo and my concerns to Invicta CS. I'm all late to the game, but I'm forced to play now.

Hmmm. PMs are Out of Order? Ok, question: How long did the person who got the email back from Invicta stating they would replace the movement wait until they sent the second email to CS asking them to address the issue? Please and thanks.

Your question doesn't make much sense. When I sent my original emails to Invicta there was a request in those emails to address the issue. And all following emails concerned the replacement of the mov't and getting confirmation and clarity from Invicta CS concerning just that. There is no separating the two.

BTW, PM's work. Check your settings to make sure you have them turned on.

I could have worded my question better for sure. Thanks for answering anyway! :D My PM's were jammed at 172, leftover madness from move. They have since been flushed out and it's all working again.

So I mean that I saw an email that says "This is my second request". I got the impression that they then sent the email saying they would replace. I was just asking how long you waited between the first time you emailed with the revelation and the second time when they finally replied.

I think I'll hit them up again on Monday. That gives them a whole week. I don't want to be tooooo pushy. Definitely going to ask them to put the right frickin' movement in there, though.

Ok, well, without going back and reading through the entire thread I can't be for certain which member's comments you may be referring to. The point however, is moot. The instructions from Invicta were pretty clear, provide proof of purchase material and send the watch to them. They agreed to inspect the watch and replace the incorrect movement with the correct part. They also agreed (to me) that my watch was still considered under warranty and they waived the $28 fee. I believe you are covered if you can pony up proof of purchase info. I'm aware of one member who sent in his watch, still waiting for it's return.

The emails that CS and I swapped took less than a week from start to finish. I sent the original email and promptly got a response but not an answer. That took a couple more days. Then another question was sent, and then another. The answers always came the next day.

Remember also that at this time of year you may not hear from Invicta very quickly. It's the holiday season and they will be playing catch up when they return to the office after the first of the year. A little more patience than usual may be in order.
Good luck.

Well, they wouldn't answer my emails, so I called, and they said they will replace the movement at no cost to me. However, they will not give me a pre-paid shipping label, and more disturbingly, they won't open a new customer service case # for this. They just want me to send it in with a note inside saying what needs to be done to it.

Ummm...for some reason, I have trust issues with this company that swapped movements in my watch without saying anything about it. How easy it would be for them to just feed my watch to a frickin' gator and then claim they never received it. But I want my GD 7750! What to do, what to do...

:shake:

Why wouldn't they open a service case? Afraid of leaving a paper trail

If you are sending the watch in, make sure you have a delivery receipt. Personally I wouldn't do it. You have a perfectly good working watch, why mess with it unless it's a matter of principle. Good luck

It's a tough call, good points on both sides.
So far I still only know of one person who has sent in a watch. He's posted in this thread that they've done everything by the book so far concerning case numbers and what not. Still no return or word about it since it arrived at the BiGI CS black hole.
For me the 'The watch works perfectly now but should it return it might be junk' argument won. But I've still learned, take everything the BiGI says with a grain of salt, always verify the "facts" before committing. Evine makes it easy to return items that don't make the cut. Every time I see someone advertise a 7750 Invicta the red flags go up and people generally don't know they are giving erroneous information about the item they are selling. It would take an effort of presidential campaign proportions to alert the maximum amount of people to the rip off and in the end most of them don't care anyway. For those of us to whom it matters, we know and will pass along the word amongst our community.
