When I first cast eyes upon the Super Compressor, I’ve got to admit it didn’t really jump out at me. Build quality and value for money would have never been in doubt; I’m just not that crazy about vintage inspired watches.

However, not all is hunky-dory in the land of the Christopher Ward Super Compressor. Somehow, they’ve managed to misalign some text at the bottom of the dial. Is it that bad a deal?

Let's check it out!

I have a few thoughts here but the first is: how are we defining "reputable"?
While I'm sure CW is turning out many orders that are not defective, dirty, or generally incorrect. The internet is littered with stories of problems with CW watch orders. Arriving dirty, arriving with the links missing pins. Items not being shipped, wrong items being shipped. And now apparently not just one watch but a batch with misaligned text?

A printing error like that can show up on any watch for sure, from a $5 drug store piece to a hand made 6 figure piece. The difference is supposed to be the quality control. If an Omega gets through with a misaligned bezel or a slight printing error they replace it. CW acknowledging that there is a batch that has such an imperfection but agreeing to just make the next batch better is not a reputable move.

I'm sure people think I harp on CW because I personally have had bad experiences with them but that is the way it goes. I have two CWs. I like them a lot. I like this super compressor C65 a lot! But I haven't considered a CW in a long time because of their lack of QC and their unwillingness to follow through to make things right. Very cool watches... but reputable? I'm sorry I just don't think so based on their track record.

My other thoughts is just how many watch reviewers are out there!?!. My wife says to me the other day "you should try making your own videos for Youtube" But geez, there's already a new guy popping up every minute.

This guy has been at it for seven years. I do agree YT reviews seem to pop up like fruit flies and some have just as short a life cycle.
