Sculptor Thomas Jastram and A. Lange & Söhne CEO Wilhelm Schmid tell of the process that took more than two years to find the perfect expression for the character of Walter Lange, the courageous re-founder of A. Lange & Söhne. Crafted from local materials and integrated into the ensemble St. Wolfgang Church’s forecourt in Glashütte, the bronze memorial exemplifies the true Saxon ambition to never stand still and confirms Walter Lange’s connection to his hometown.

The exclusive mechanical timepieces of A. Lange & Söhne are made in small batches, with the utmost care and craftsmanship of precious materials. They maintain a watchmaking culture that is passed on from generation to generation and which began in 1845 with the establishment of the watch manufacture by Ferdinand A. Lange in Glashütte, Saxony. His vision of setting standards with the manufacture's timepieces can still be found today in every single Lange watch.

For several generations the watchmakers at A. Lange & Söhne have been pursuing one goal: to build timepieces that are at the forefront of international watchmaking. That is why we have made it our task to promote motivated and talented people in our own company in our watchmaker training. You too can make the little things the greatest for yourself and find out more about training at A. Lange & Söhne.
