Meh. I've lived in New York, Maryland, Texas, Vermont and Florida. You've got whackos and saints everywhere.

I do rather like that Texas and Florida don't have a state income tax.

It is something of a mystery why watch importers tend to cluster in South Florida and NYC. Most importers seem to setup shop in the Pacific NW - cheap flights to Beijing and Hong Kong and close to Port Long Beach.

Single trips into a place can leave an impression and there's nothing about impressions that require that they be accurate. My impression of Indiana to this day boils down to one single word: "rust". On an intellectual level I assume that to be inaccurate but somehow it sticks so I can sympathize with how one crank and a couple of geritols can do likewise.

Agreed, if one is too lazy to do some minimal research to find out the best and worst areas of a state, and they ALL have both, then broad brush negative comments don't bode well for ones' credibility.

Rust pretty well fits in some context. The 70's and 80's weren't kind to vehicles around there, with the dicey quality and the literal tons of salt they use in the winter to keep traffic moving a new car or truck might goe two years before it rusts through. Today most vehicles are made with a lot of plastic and aluminum so the problem isn't as prolific as it once was but it's still here. The Rust Belt.

Well emailed over the weekend. Got a tracking number for a reply email. Should have my watch back Wednesday. Almost 4 months to the date.
So I said I was gonna have the movement checked when it came back for the correct movement- question is do I take it and have someone open the back and check it or wind it put it in my winder and if it works be happy?

Open it. If you don't then you can never be sure. Jimmy got his back and found the same incorrect mov't installed, would never have known if he hadn't checked.

Just got my watch back today. Condition wise all is good
Anything special I need to do before I remove the back? I've never taken a back off of a watch
Bought a tool to remove it. Just not sure if crown needs to be unscrewed or in? Anything special I need to do?

Thanks
Mike

Yes.... Say 3 Hail Mary's!

Just unscrew her. That should be all you need to do. That is all I have ever done. Good Luck!

Well popped the back off and I can see a marking on the lowest piece. Looks like 7780 but my eyes can't see that little writing. Thinking it says 7750.
Is that where it is? The lowest piece you can see?
May have lucked out. Didn't see any sw500 markings

That's the ticket! Well done!

Well sob! I'm super surprised. 4 months later. Now I'll wind it some, set the date tomorrow and put it in the winder and see how it goes!

Well all seems well. She has been on the winder since Wednesday at 1p and set correct time and date Thursday. Keeping time perfect and date. Have winder set at 900 a day.
Glad I stumbled across this forum and this post.
Good luck to everyone else that is having issues. I did email Brian also so I'm not sure if that help but I did get the correct movement!
