Presenting the new BR-X5 Green Lum that has an entirely luminescent 41mm case equipped with the new BR-CAL.323 caliber manufacture movement providing a power reserve of approximately 70 hours.

This advanced time instrument takes the concept of luminescence to the next step by applying it to the entire 41mm case of this time instrument allowing it to glow spectacularly in the dark. The container is cut from a block of grade 2 DLC-treated titanium. The mechanism is inserted between two shields fashioned from a photoluminescent composite material LM3D, made from quartz fibers diffusing a powerful green luminescence.

It boasts a multi-layer assembly. The hollowed-out architecture of the case center reveals a technical construction that optimizes lightness without compromising on resistance.

It is limited to 500 pieces and made for those looking for the form factor of the BR-X5 in a lightweight and entirely luminescent 41mm case.

THE LUM CONCEPT​

Luminescent materials have been used since the 1930s to cover the indexes and numerals on timepieces designed for professionals, starting with the military.

THE MANUFACTURE MOVEMENT​

The first collection from the brand to include a manufacture movement developed by Kenissi, the BR-X5 is the fruit of several years of research and development. The BR-CAL.323 calibre offers a power reserve of approx. 70 hours.

A BR-X5 WITH A LUMINESCENT CASE​

The architecture of the BR-X5's multi-component case in this assembly alternates between multiple layers of LM3D and grade 2 microblasted black titanium with a DLC (diamond-like carbon) finish. Cut from a block of grade 2 titanium with a DLC finish, the container which houses the mechanism is inserted between two shields in LM3D, a photoluminescent composite material made from quartz fibres and which glows bright green.

hile Bell & Ross is arguably best known for its utilitarian design language that draws its inspiration from cockpit flight instruments, the brand also produces a fairly wide assortment of other models that embrace far less function-forward concepts. Sitting at the far end of the non-utilitarian spectrum are the brand’s Cyber Skull watches, which offer a fresh and decidedly modern take on this traditional memento mori concept. Although Bell & Ross has been creating watches with skulls on them since 2009, the Cyber Skull line is a more recent addition that first made an appearance in 2020, and for its latest release of 2023, Bell & Ross has created a new limited-edition variation of this rather divisive model. Based upon the full sapphire version that originally debuted in 2021, the new Bell & Ross BR 01 Cyber Skull Sapphire Ice Blue expands upon this concept with a pale blue metallic skull sitting inside its clear sapphire case.

TRANSPARENCY: A FEAT OF EXPERTISE​

The completely transparent 45-mm case is made from sapphire, a composite which is as hard and durable as diamond. The architecture of the watch makes the skull appear to float weightlessly inside the case. The see-through effect continues on the wrist with a transparent silicone strap.

HAUTE HORLOGERIE AUTOMATON ANIMATION​

Bell & Ross has equipped the BR 01 CYBER SKULL SAPPHIRE with a hand-wound movement designed entirely by the manufacture: the calibre BR-CAL.209. The automaton movement activates the jaw which opens and appears to snigger when the spring is being wound. Behind the jaw lies the barrel, which is revealed when the skull grins. Making up the brain of this skull – which has finally come to life – the anthracite balance wheel reveals its oscillations. As it beats, it serves to echo the mechanical heart of the watch.
