Helm Automatic 40mm Komodo early 2019 Goes Live On Friday Evening, March 15th, EST

I'm liking the price point on this. We could discuss watch case sizes all day and really boils down to how much you like the design. My biggest Android is a 50mm Power Jet, which still wear. I'm probably in.

The Komodo is not yet in stock . We hope to have it available by early March, 2019.

KOMODO

Tucked among the Lesser Sunda Islands of Indonesia, the remote Komodo island is home to the famed Komodo dragon, while the tropical waters surrounding the island are host to some of the richest marine biodiversity on the planet. Begging to explore these rich waters, the HELM Komodo features a 316L stainless steel case and bracelet, automatic movement, screw-down caseback and crown, domed sapphire crystal, unidirectional bezel, highly legible dial and a 300 meter depth rating. With a compact case diameter of 40mm, the ISO 6425 compliant Komodo is the perfect size to strap on for any far-flung adventure.

Available with three dial variations and several aftermarket bezel options, the Komodo also includes the NS1 Nylon Strap―an excellent option in the water and a casual, lighter weight alternative to the stainless bracelet. And with a standard 20mm lug width, the Komodo can be dressed up or down with limitless aftermarket straps, including our own RS1 rubber strap (coming soon).

a chunky chubb...40mm 45.5 L2L...a chunky circle like a PUCK but with lugs...should be good for active wear , snorkeling...sporting about DARIEN, CT. formidable wrist presence but not likely to ding stuff...solid in the saddle

I’d take the white dial Komodo over Wing’s DM-II (same old) design anyday. Wing is great, but his new design Aragon Watch creativity has stalled, IMHO.

The only thing the DM 2 has in common with the HK is the NH35 movement and being SS. The specs and watches are night and day, even the crowns are at different locations.

Totally understand, and agree with your point Mike. My comment is based on my disappointment with Wing’s lack of new watch design creativity. Same old DM design, same thick case, same bracelet, same cheap clasp, same cyclops, same ladder hands, same screw-down crown, same Bezel styles — how many of the same style watches can I have?? Sadly, I have moved away from Wing and Aragon, and now try to support fresh creative Micro designers of the same mold as Wing, such as Elshan at Zelos, Alan Tsao, Ross at Hamtun, Chris at NTH, and Helm. I guess my tastes have evolved that having a big chunky solid piece of SS on my wrist, is better. I have 28 near mint Android watches, that I no longer enjoy wearing, maybe it is my aging wrist....

Totally agree Mark with your point and about supporting other micro brands. I have a handful of Aragon watches, but none of them really have broken any new ground. Wing's design mojo has flown the coop. The ones I do own are Tritium tubes, a Charger and the few pink dials he has offered. All of my funds have been going towards the other brands mentioned as well. I haven't picked up any of the old brands like Invicta, Deep Blue, etc.

We're happy to announce that the new Komodo 300mm Automatic will be in stock and available for purchase beginning Friday evening, March 15th, Eastern Daylight Time.

We'll do our best to pack and ship each order within three days, but if the order volume is high, it may take a bit longer and we apologize in advance for any delays that occur.

As a reminder, many accessories, such as the new RS1 rubber strap and Komodo bezels, are available at a discount when purchased with a watch.

On that note, we did produce the CS1 canvas strap in a 20mm width with the intention of offering it as an accessory for the Komodo.

As it turns out though, the fit is not ideal. The strap can be installed, but the tolerance between the end of the strap and the edge of the watch case is tight and the watch case will likely abrade the strap over time. For this reason, we don't recommend the CS1 as an ideal strap option for the Komodo. However, the RS1 rubber strap is an excellent fit!

I don't want to bash Wing as he seems like a very genuine good guy. I was excited when he said Aragon was going to be a more boutique brand. I thought he would be using better materials like ceramic or sapphire bezels, sapphire crystals, anti-reflective glare coating and stuff like that. Not that he has overpriced his stuff, he's kept it reasonable and for my tastes just a little too familiar. Still I always wish him the best as he backs his products up with good service. Just was hoping for more, but he knows his customer base and if it's working good on him.
