:hmm: THE BIG WATCH BRANDS WON'T BE HAPPY ABOUT THIS

Gruebel Forsey, Richard Mille and Jacob and Co. are watchmakers who paved the way for the superwatch. These nearly untouchable timepieces run hundreds of thousands of dollars, even millions. Their most prized pieces: tourbillons.

That’s all about to change with the new superwatch upstart.

Bringing luxury timepieces within reach of the masses is the backbone that drives Aventi. The A-10, their premier model, draws inspiration and innovation from a source that, at first glance, may seem unlikely: the supercar.

With reserve we make sure all are performing to at least 75 hours or more (longer than advertised)

accuracy per day - we are still working with PTS resources to improve the accuracy.
- if we get over 1000 orders (which we anticipate) we will work with them to do significant changes to the movement which would enable us to improve the timekeeping accuracy much beyond the amount

- if we don't reach 1000 orders we have an agreement to only use the highest performing movements from the production batch and reject any that don't meet the most accurate promised performance.

We haven't officially advertised our accuracy of the movement because we are likely to improve it.

Yes you’re right on paper it doesn’t look so great...

From all the research and testing we did this particular movement (3450) was the best performing with the most suitable aesthetics for the brand vision.

(I personally flew to La Chaux-de-Fonds to meet with numerous manufacturers who could help with the vision.... the most reasonable tourbillon movement came in around $5000 usd but was not skeletonized - for that another reputable company mentioned development fees around $1m usd... Those were the quotes given before I even mentioned sapphire crystal case!...)

With regards to accuracy and reliability I had the same concern as you so I met with PTS resources in Hong Kong and negotiated a deal to allow us to do our own QC to measure accuracy - anything performing under the threshold we will return and keep only the most accurate and reliable.

Given the price point you're aiming at, "WORLD'S MOST COMPLEX SAPPHIRE CRYSTAL WATCH CASE" is pretty much bound to be marketing hype rather than actual truth. There's plenty of impressive sapphire watch cases around (for example, the Hublot mp-05 laferrari sapphire, the Girard-Perregaux Quasar, ...) but given these watches are infinitely more expensive than this one, that shouldn't come as a surprise.

First of all I want people to know that this is a sponsored post. There was no aBlogtoWatch Journalist actually testing this watch, and definitely he did not rave about it like this article does. It is an ad, with an ad text. That's important for people to know.

I am sorry but I am not a fan of the concept of these so called "luxury" watches (e.g. this and ERA). They may look cool and even seem technologically advanced and high quality, but things are a little deceptive here. You are not a manufactue like Zenith, AP or Patek. Your company doesn't put a single hand on assembling this watch. It is made entirely in China. By Chinese workers, for Chinese prices, with Chinese quality standard. Yet it is sold as "luxury" which it is not. It is the illusion of luxury. So for people who want exactly this - the illusion of luxury - and who know what they are getting this might be okay. But for people who don't have a lot of knowledge about watches (which are many) this is very deceptive. They might actually think that this is a quality piece and fall for it. Then they'll be disappointed when they realize that this is not a real quality piece, but the illusion of it.

Plus, some of the statements in this affordable "luxury" watch segment (e.g. ERA) are just downright lies! ERA claims to have an "In-House Movement" which they don't! An In-House movement is 100% developed, produced, assembled, finished etc. by the watch manufacturer. This is what companys like Zenith, AP, Patek (real luxury watch companys) do. ERA on the other hand doesn't put a single finger on their movements and/or watches. It's nothing but a marketing stunt.

So you have to know I am Swiss and I love watches. In my eyes mechanical, artisanal made watches (especially of course our Swiss ones :) ) are pieces of art. Can you even imagine how much countless hours, skill and love go into a hand made Swiss tourbillon movement? Only very few, very skilled watchmakers are even capable of manufacturing such a movement, and it takes months, if not years to assemble, finish, adjust etc.! So I am sorry to say but projects like yours or ERA not only seem like a cheap marketing stunt (and sometimes a downright lie) to me, but also a bit like an insult to real watch artistry and artisanship.

Simply put: if a Zenith, AP, Patek, Rolex, you name it is a piece of art, your watch (or ERA) is a poster. And a pretty expensive poster too! I see your most expensive model is about 2'000 $. For this price, one can get a Tag Heuer Aquaracer, 300m water resistant, with a Swiss Made automatic movement and a manufacturing level that is absolutely perfect. A watch that will run not only for years or decades, but for generations. Think about this.

Optically and intellectually very curious but financially very cautious about something that could be so fragile and maybe have a very short working life.

So, the concept of "cheapest tourbillon" or "cheapest all-sapphire" is red herring. You can find either for way under £100 online but the real question is, is this a quality item?...
There's no question that some watches are overpriced, no doubt at all, and I'm genuinely intrigued by Aventi watches A, because they're quirky and B, because they definitely deserve respect because making interesting products out of thin air is hard. But it appears that these watches are marketed as an affordable (under $2,000) alternative to manufacturers that charge hundreds of thousands of dollars and this is my major concern. Because that's like Haval (subsidiary of Great Wall Motors) building a V8 supercar and saying they're targeting Ferrari drivers.

A Billionaire's Toy for Under $1000: The Aventi Supercar Tourbillon

Aventi Watch impresses watch aficionados with its powerful new tourbillon. Titanium, sapphire crystal and tourbillon movement, this timepiece has everything luxury watches have without the price.Gruebel Forsey, Richard Mille...

https://www.wrcbtv.com/story/4194809...car-tourbillon

At the helm, Aventi’s unconventional CEO, Hannu Siren explains his approach to watch engineering, “A watch is more than a time telling instrument. I look at watches as works of art, created meticulously. A timepiece is a reflection of the wearer’s personality. With Aventi, our aim is to create the same rush you feel behind the wheel of a Lamborghini for your wrist.”

To be honest, I was expecting a badly made watch. Something about their brand identity and design that, and the fact that they used to be called Swole O’clock (suspicious transition or simply a rebranding?).

:banghead: Maybe the third time is the charm .... AVENTI
