Because of my bad eyes I stopped working on my watches. Now because of operations and injections and laser treatments my eyes have regained the ability to actually see again. Now it's time to work on my time pieces. Thanks for giving me the incentive.

Thank you to Rog for his OP and Mike for propagating it! This should be a sticky it's so important, even if just for quartz and auto movement removal. I'm hoping to clean my S. Coifmans with Sellita SW-200 movements and, thanks to both of you, I will be able to do it.

It actually is I think and was the reason I re-posted the photos with instruction.

It actually is eyE think, reason re-posted the pics and stuff is because it was all gone after the forum change, but the DIY stuff seems to have been restored.

Yes it's been restored. We are working to restore as much as we can of what members might find most useful.

I just successfully cleaned my green Li battery Reserve Prodiver !

Thank you Rog for your instructions !

I too have used these instructions in the past and it is great. Scared the crap out of me the first time though.

Congrats... you have my upmost respect! I'm too chicken ... and clumsy.

I was also chicken to try this job for the longest time, but I figured I had nothing to loose as the fog was so thick that it just wasn't wearable. I'd go for it, it really wasn't that difficult.

Great post, Thank you!!!

I actually have the perfect Invicta to try this on - got dirt cheap from the River Warehouse - when it arrived it had something clouding the inside under the magnifier, so I called CS and got a $30 credit. Now I know how to fix it.

Can't wait to go home and open her up!!

Found another one hazed up. This one has a Sapphire crystal. I'm putting it here because I did not see the ISA 8171/202 stem release photo so hopefully this will help anyone who needs to pull the movement out.

Seeing the familiar and no Foggy Crystals is always good. Tanks Mike.

I think was the tutorial that I followed back in the day when I saw some fog inside an old Android Cocoon Power Reserve timepiece that I have (and still wear from time to time). At the time I thought I'd have a better chance of climbing to the top of the Mt. Everest but I decided to give it a shot. Once I had the stem separate from the rest of the watch, I knew I had gone way past the point of no return. To my absolute shock, I was able to get rid of the fog and get everything back together. Not sure I'd try that again but I do remember the experience.

Thanks Mike , ....from a time when I had good vision.....steady hands....2 kidneys.....most of my hair.....was 100lbs lighter.....and didn't need a case of Viagra and a fist full of roofies on a date....
