I will be getting the vaccine tomorrow evening. I'll let you all know how it goes.
Smart move and glad you have been able to gain access. If you are able, take 1,000mg Tylenol about 30" prior. Will help.

Found my arm surprisingly sore the next day and felt rather punky about 36° after. Then felt great by the next AM.

Moderna or Pfizer?

Thanks for the tip. It will be the Moderna. First dose is tomorrow. The Hospital System that I work for requires it.
Keep us updated. And be sure to sign up with the CDV vaccine monitoring program. Takes just minutes and they will text you to do follow up information.

Hopefully I can wait longer than 3 months. most of the docs that got the vaccine said their arm was sore. One had fatigue and chills for 24-36 hours. The ER docs will take the next day off after their shot, and are spreading out the turns for the shot so that not too many would potentially feel bad at the same time.

^^^Hang in there. Your situation is worse than ours and ours is horrible at our hospital; have never seen so much death and the majority of my career has been ICU and hospice.

Stay safe. Take care of yourself. Trying to do likewise here.
Thanks in the past week it has gotten ever worse. I received my vaccine shot Moderna on Monday so far so good feel fine other then tired for working so many days. One thing that seems to be a pattern is don't get the vaccine if you are not feeling well or feel you have been exposed to Covid ( most people have no idea how they are exposed) This past week we had 19 staff that test positive and 13 of them had received the vaccine last week. So really even then you are not sure. The numbers are climbing and climbing.
I work in an area ED covid ward where half the people I worked with last week tested positive so I have been swabbed twice negative. We are packed and if we have to ship someone its usually Phoenix, Vegas and Denver because the biggest hospital in the area Flagstaff has no room at the inn.
Stay safe and Healthy and here's to a better New Year in 2021 but my guess is not for a while maybe 2022 will be better.

From my FB post today:

The US has the safest vaccine history in the world.

So ready to see the devastating effects of this virus on patients, families and our world be a thing of the past.

When you are eligible and the vaccine is available, I strongly encourage everyone to receive it. I spent weeks reading and researching before choosing to receive it. And by “research,” I don’t mean YouTube videos but actual clinical trial documents, NIH studies and FDA reports.

Trust me, the vaccine is FAR safer than you taking your chance with COVID.

Doing my part to protect myself, my family, my friends and coworkers as well as my neighbors. Hope you will do the same.

Actually a bit tearful this afternoon thinking about a future where this (expletive deleted) virus will just be a bad memory. God help us to get there quickly.

I am just so tired of seeing so much suffering and death.

I have my own issues with PTSD from all my years working ICU and all I saw. But that pales to what this virus is doing to the ICU nurses and MDs working in this.

Anything that we can do to help them, we must do.

We at USPS have been approved by the CDC as essential workers to be part of the second round of immunizations. They are trying to coordinate the hows and expect to begin in February. I will gladly get in line but we have many rumblings of people in our office who will refuse.

Report from the weekend after 2nd vaccine jab. Felt like I had the flu Friday night and Saturday. Body aches, low grade temp. Then the symptoms went away. Was tired yesterday but at work today.

Anyone who can get the vaccine, go for it.

Some peace of mind knowing that in another 2-3 weeks I will have significant immunity. Of course I will still take precautions because we don't know if I can still get the virus and carry it without symptoms.

I long for the day when there are enough of us vaccinated that this disease will be a rare nuisance instead of the current deadly pandemic that it is now.

The VA will contact me when it's my turn. I'm ready to go.
100 days 100 million doses

- I am ready to get stuck wait 30 days get stuck again wait what do it every year for the rest of life we'll have to see-

- i think i'll go the CVS route they should be in practice

- i'll make sure i go in network a lot of docs around here submitted multi-thousand dollar bills by making covid tests have 100 codes then peeps in network protected and others can call private equity and docs were vociferous in defense of their services and silent on billing practices

-my understanding private equity buying many doctor practices and making full use of billing discrepancies in coding currently legal e.g. placing out of network doc in emergency room and submitting out of network bills

-like ambulance currently to my understanding no limit on fee...so short story long when i got my heat stroke 2 years ago after my return from the land of NOD drank a cup of tea I refused ambulance drove home because i had read about billing practice
The VA will contact me when it's my turn. I'm ready to go.

"only 2 of us were coughing"
They are primates as well. Makes some sense.
yeah...talking zoonosis actually when i mentioned apes i just thought gee my family tree...

zoonosis...bat to mongoose... etc we really do not know how the virus is transmitted..only that ...virus' have always been transmitted animal to animal ...animal to human...usually from proximity i.e. share air...

on my watch site... they say... MASTADON EXTINCTION cause by ...man hunts with dog... dog has virus... zoonotic extinction

probably only 15,000 years ago when ice was piled 1 mile high in NYC CENTRAL PARK because due to cold temps it snowed continually for a few hundred thousand years but never thawed
