A tribute to Uncle John...

There is nothing quite like the tangible remembrances our family and friends leave us, especially those who served us in uniform. My dad served as an enlisted Marine in the Korean War, and then got his commission in the USNR as an Intelligence Officer, and although there was no special watch he wore that was a part of all that he did, I was lucky in that I inherited his old Omega "Seamaster." Every time I wear it, it's like having dad right there with me as I go about my day. It's truly an amazing experience, and one that I hope you will come to know and marvel at. So, while I acknowledge your loss from so long ago, I also congratulate you on receiving this bit of living history from your uncle. Wear it in pride, mon ami, and know that he will be proud every time you do so.

Well put and thanks, Mr. Jingles!!

That is a beautiful timepiece that you received. I would feel proud every time that adorns your wrist. Just looking at it tells a story.
Good for you. Congratulations and enjoy.

Thanks Buzz. What’s amazing is, the thing is running like a top. I took a very cautious approach to winding it the first few days, winding it a bit more each day and observing what it delivered as a power reserve. I finally gave it a full wind a couple days ago and it hung right in there. Don’t have a really good idea of +/- SPD cause it doesn’t hack. Guess it might be time for a watch meter. I guess it runs at 18k BPH. Pretty cool stuff!
