Amazon confirms Oct. 13, 14 Prime Day event; deals start now
Sep. 28, 2020 7:42 AM ET
Last week, multiple news reports suggested that Amazon's (NASDAQ:AMZN) pandemic-delayed Prime Day sales event would happen across October 13 and 14. Amazon has now confirmed those dates.
The tech giant is also launching some early Prime Day deals, including a two-pack of prior generation Echo Dots and a $10 credit for users who spend more than $10 at any small business merchant on the platform.
Last week, Amazon held its fall hardware event and announced new flagship Echos, new Dots, and a smart home security drone.
Prime Day 2020 comes as Amazon continues to ride a pandemic tailwind for e-commerce demand. In July, Amazon reported 40% Y/Y Q2 revenue growth and forecast Q3 strength.
But Amazon's competitive landscape also grew more crowded this year after Walmart launched Prime competitor, Walmart+.
Amazon shares are up 1.7% pre-market to $3,148.80.
